Anne Hathaway got her happily ever after September 29.

The Princess Diaries actress, 29, married actor and jewelry designer Adam Shulman, 31, in Big Sur, California. The bride wore a custom dress by Valentino, featuring a long train and elaborate veil.

“They seemed incredibly happy and in love,” an eyewitness tells Us Weekly. “They were posing for pictures after the wedding and seemed giddy and on an adrenaline high. At one point, they had a moment to themselves and they just looked at each other for a long time and then kissed.”

The sunset ceremony, planned by Yifat Oren and Stefanie Cove, took place on a cliff in an open-sided tent next to a barn surrounded by tall pine trees.

This is the first marriage for both Hathaway and Shulman, who began dating in 2008. “We hit it off immediately, but it took us a pretty long time to get together,” Hathaway told Vogue in October 2010. Once the pair both realized they were single, the star confessed “things sped up a bit — and I think I’ll leave it at that.”

In a 2011 interview with USA Today, Hathaway gushed that Shulman is “all the things you want a partner to be. I so find joy in his presence.”
